Kultureshock is a pioneering d-beat crustcore band formed by vocalist and iconic frontman Skum around 2009. In the early days the band played local underground gigs under a host of different names and numerous line-ups, developing a small, die-hard fan base. Due to financial and personal problems the band failed to release an album but in 2012, after Skum teamed up with Ye Ngwe Soe of No U Turn on guitar and second vocal and changed the band’s name to Kultureshock, they managed to release their first demo ‘Extreme Punk and Terror’.

Kultureshock is the first band in Myanmar to play d-beat crustpunk and is strongly influenced by Swedish hardcore punk bands such as Anti Cimex, Skitslickers, Avskum, Moderad Likviktation and Totalitar. The band featured a song called 'Urban Rubbish' in the JAM IT! Compilation Album which released in January 2015. They released their debut full-lenght album on 12 November 2016.
